Ballroom Dance

DSS is an athletic ballroom dance school for dancers of all ages and levels that encompasses education in all aspects of fitness, health, and wellbeing.

What is DanceSport

DanceSport is the official term for competitive Ballroom Dancing. It includes various styles and techniques that most of us have seen on television shows, such as Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance.

Who Can Ballroom Dance?

Here at DanceSport Studio (DSS), anybody can learn and experience the wonderful world of Ballroom and Latin dancing. Whether you are ready to compete or want to pursue it for your pleasure, DSS is the right place to start. Learn Latin-style ballroom dances such as the Cha-Cha-Cha, the Samba, the Rumba, Jive, and Paso Doble. Or take your time diving into the Waltz, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Tango, or Quickstep. Meet new friends, rekindle relationships, or open your child up to a new world that combines sport with glamour. Once you take a step inside, you will be mesmerized.

The Art of DanceSport

The Athletic Ballroom Dance School

DanceSport Studio is an athletic dance school. The owners of DSS have created The Art of DanceSport Training System for competitive and social dancers alike. It encompasses education in all aspects of fitness, health, and wellbeing (physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual) for dancers of all ages and levels.

Igor Golovach & Michelle-Angela Blank, currently competitive professional dancers representing the United States of America in the world arena, founded the first location of DSS in Medford, NJ, in 2018. They aim to spread the art and sport of Ballroom Dancing to the American culture, exposing the beauty and athleticism that DanceSport offers to children and adults of all ages.

Benefits of Ballroom Dancing

The benefits of Ballroom Dancing are endless. Just as in figure skating and gymnastics, the combination of art and sport establishes many study points that students must master to provide strong results in competition. Children love the rush of competition and work hard to show their best and improve daily with dedication and discipline, shaping their lives in all aspects of communication, determination, relationships, hard work, and passion.
